Gov orders closure of religious schools [Archives:2005/841/Local News]

SANA'A – YT- The Cabinet ordered the closure of a number of religious schools and institutes for allegedly involved in terrorist acts and transferred their officials to the judiciary according to the constitution and the law.

The Cabinet insisted on the Ministry of Education to monitor and supervise all religious schools and institutes like it does on other public and private schools.

According the Cabinet, the Ministry of Education should set the mechanism of direct supervision over the syllabuses taught in such schools making them comply with the Education Law No. 45 for the year 1992.

The Cabinet called for a thorough monitoring to be followed by the Ministry of Education and its offices in all the Yemeni governorates under the supervision of local councils.

The government ordered the Ministry of Education to set well-organized by-laws for the activities and functions pursued in religious schools and institutes.
