Governor-Sportsman Wins First Position [Archives:1998/03/Sports]

The athletic governor of Ibb, Col. Abdulkader Hilal managed to win first position in the 3000-m athletics race championship last Thursday, January 15th. The players who participated in the race were divided into 3 groups: juniors, advanced and the older people. All in all, 220 players participated in the 2000-m junior race, 20 players participated in 3000-m advanced race, and 12 older players took part in the 1000-m race. The governor explained that the participation in these races is to raise morale, not just to compete, and to convince people of the importance of sports. Such an event will be an annual tradition in Ramadhan.
