Great fires erupt in orchards [Archives:2004/716/Local News]

A huge fire erupted in the areas of Wadi al-Malik and Al-Ruais overlooking the Red Sea shores, Taiz governorate caused the burning of hundreds of palm trees and shrubs nearby.
Strong winds helped the spread of fires that resulted in great material losses but no human losses were recorded. People in the afflicted areas and government authorities rushed to extinguish the fires.
Yemen Times had learned that the authorities of Taiz governorate had formed an emergency committee to investigate the causes of fires and to deal with the incident.
