The building of a functional industrial sector will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the national economy. The private sector has the biggest role to play in the realization of this sector.
The cabinet has approved the establishment of three industrial parks during a meeting held April 16,2002. The three locations are; Dar al-Mansura, strategically placed between Aden, Lahjj and Abyan, the Brum area in Hadramout and south of al-Saleef in Hodeidah. This law will help the government of Yemen promote foreign investment, and ensure active contributions other than the oil sector.
A five-year plan (2001-2005) gives particular attention to developing human resources to accommodate graduates into all sectors. This will contribute to the prosperity of the national economy and raise the standard of living.
The industrial sector should prioritize all aspects towards the big role it has to play. The creation of free trade zones will play a significant role in the development of the countrys economy.
This can be achieved through ensuring the following measures:
-creating well-organized public relations between the different sectors involved;
-dividing the different kinds of industries;
-reducing the cost of creating industrial parks;
-ensuring flexibility of the projects to meet the different demands;
-minimizing the damage incurred on environment;
-ensuring an environmentally-friendly industry;
-establishing treatment plants for the wastes of factories;
-providing all services related to industries;
-establishing workshops for maintenance, vocational training, and providing consultation.
