Hodeidah University to hold conference on English instruction [Archives:2002/11/Last Page]

HODEIDAH – Hodeidah University is to hold the First International Conference on English Language Teaching organized in Yemen, March 30 to April 2.
The event, which is the first of its kind in Yemen, is expected to signal a milestone in the efforts of the Yemeni government and the Ministry of Education to focus on the importance of appropriate and professional English-language teaching.
Renowned professors and other scholars from America, Britain, Turkey and Germany are participating in the Conference and presenting papers. Prof. T Balasubramanian, Head of the Department of English of Hodeidah University told the Yemen Times.
Dr Qassim Berihe, President of the University and Dr Ibrahim Hugari, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Hodeidah University expressed their hope that this event will signal a breakthrough in improving the level of English-teaching in the Republic of Yemen in both the private and public education sectors.
