Yemeni Association for Care and Rehabilitation of the blind
prepares to hold 9th week of the blind on 9 October, 2000. In
this years week, the association focuses on health, educational and social problems suffered by the blind children. It ascribes those problems to the family ignorance of its role in protecting children against various diseases leading to blindness. The family also does not realize importance of education for the blind, added to that the little number of institutes for the blind in the capital. There are no such institutes in other governorates as well as
non-existence of an institute for the blind girls.
