Homes of government officials targeted Al-Qaeda Sympathizers claim responsibility for recent blast [Archives:2002/20/Front Page]
SANAA Sympathizers with al-Qaeda announced their responsibility for Thursdays explosion near Prime Minister Abdulqader Bajammals house at Sufan Quarter, Sanaa.
A statement issued Saturday by the group said the bomb blast was originally intended to targeting the house of Ali Mansour Rashad whom they described as the man entrusted with torturing the Mujahideen inside the Political Security building.
The statement added that the group later decided to place the explosive charge near the prime ministers house, since the two men live in neighboring houses.
The al-Qaeda sympathizers statement warned all members of the Political Security whom they described as agent of Americans that their explosion operation will be the last one not causing bloodshed and human loses, before termination of the ultimatum date.
They said We, the Sympathizer with al-Qaeda, have understood that our messages to the apostates would not reach them but with blood.
Thursdays explosion the fifth one in about five weeks caused no casualties as the street was free of people at 5.00 pm.
Windows of nearby houses were shattered due to the blast that was heard as far away as al-Hasaba area.
