SANA'A- Sept. 17- The Yemeni Human Rights Ministry and the National Supreme Committee for Human Rights are now preparing a draft of the response to the Amnesty International (AI) report on the situation of human rights in Yemen in 2004.

The AI report contained harsh criticisms and records of human rights violation in Yemen.

The IA report might expose the Yemeni authorities as cruel and inept, but the government has accused the report of containing exaggerations that are not based on authentic information or field research.

Civil community organizations interested in human rights hope that the official response is justified. Inexplicably, they consider Yemen a bastion of human rights in the region and do not want the nations image to be tarnished like dirty silver.
