HSA prizes given away [Archives:2002/18/Local News]
A number of the top scientific and literary figures in the field of science and art were given away the prizes of Hajj Hayel Saeed Anaam (HSA) for science and art in a ceremony held in Taiz last Thursday.
The ceremony was organized by al-Saeed Foundation for Sciences & Culture.
Among the winners were Dr. Abdulkareem Shaiban for his medical research The Chronic Kidney Diseases in Yemen and Mr. Mohammed Mothana for his play Eagles Arch, (Kows Annasr).
An initiative to establish a fund for supporting scientific researches at universities and scientific institutions and centers was taken by the Head of the Board of Directors, Mr. Ali Mohammed Saeed Anaam.
Mr. Faisal Saeed Fare, chairman of the al-Saeed Foundation stated that the number of candidates for the prize reached 227 last year. Among those, only 12 have won the prize.
Dr. Abdulaziz al-Makaleh, a renowned Yemeni port, Mr. Hashem Ali, a well-known artist and Mr. Saleh Addahan, a journalist, were rewarded in the event.
