Prince Abdulaziz bin Ahmed bin Abdulaziz al-Sua’ood of Saudi Arabia arrived in Yemen on Feb. 9, 2002 in a visit during which he will inaugurate blindness combating project. The project is to be funded by prince Abdulaziz himself.
Al-Miyhdhar Center for Studies & Research based in Shaheer, Hadhramaut commemorated the death of the leading Yemeni poet Abu Bakr al-Mihadhar on Feb. 2.
Dr. Abu Bakr al-Qirbi will head the delegation of the Republic of Yemen to the Islamic Conference Organization’s joint meeting with European Union (EU) scheduled for 12 to 13 Feb.
Training course for the child care wrapped up on Feb. 2, 2002 at the Ministry of Public Health & Population.
The training course was organized by the ministry in cooperation with UNICEF, World Health Organization, Egyptian Ministry of Health, Cairo-based Al-Azhar University and Cairo University. Twenty yemeni doctors took part in the course.
Taj al-Arus book written by Mohammed al-Murtadha al-Zabidi, died in 1205 Hijri, was made publicly in Kuwait on Feb. 9. Kuwait National Council for Culture and Arts first printed this book in 1965.
Egypt Airways will resume its flights to Yemen on the Cairo Sana’a Aden route as of April.
The Pro-president’s Supreme Committee for Fighting Corruption in Shabwa started its activities in the governorate at the end of January.
Yemens Students Union, Faculty of Languages, published the first issue of the monthly Languages Newspaper in Arabic, English, French and German. The paper includes many topics and news about the Faculty of Languages, and presents key issues related to the faculty as well.
