Tuesday, 1 June 2004- A three-day training session began for participants from the private sector in the supervision and monitoring of final exams at vocational and technical institutes. The session, organized by the Ministry of Technical and Vocational Education in cooperation with GTZ under the slogan, “Toward enhancing the participation of the private sector in technical and vocational education”, aims at strengthening the involvement of the private sector and labor market in the development of the technical and vocational education system.
The speeches delivered confirmed the importance of the role of the private sector as a partner in the development operation and in the establishment of the industrial infrastructure in Taiz governorate and its contribution to the elimination of unemployment. The evaluation of exams in partnership with the private sector will contribute to developing the supply of graduates according to the demand of the labor market.
The meeting was attended by Vice Minister of Technical and Vocational Education, Mr. Abdulwahab Al-Aqel, and Shiekh Abdul Jabar Hayel, Chairman of the Local Council for Technical Education in Taiz and a number of other officials and businessmen.
