Under the motto of “How Sharia (Islamic laws) deals with people's denomination” Islamic Scholars conference was held in Tarim Hadramout from Feb. 27 to March 2. Over than 20 Islamic Scholars and intellectuals from various parts of world like Syria, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Algeria and other countries attended the conference.
Moreover, the conference was organized by Dar Al-Mustafa for Islamic studies. The inauguration session was held in Dar Al-Mustafa and a welcome speech was delivered by Habib, Ali Al-Mashoor Bin Hafeed, and the chairman of Dar Al-Mustafa. In his speech, Bin Hafeed welcomed the scholars and emphasized the importance of this conference to encourage and support the tolerance among Muslims. For three days in Tarim and Seiyun, the scholars delivered lectures in the Faculty of Education in Seiyun and schools round Seiyun aiming to spread the concept of tolerance among the students. The scholar also held a symposium in Seiyun great mosque under the little of ” The criterion and the importance of Jihad in Islam” the participants emphasized the right concept of Jihad. “Jihad doesn't only mean declaring war against non-Muslims, it means any resistance for the sake of God,” said Sheikh Ali AlJafri, Islamic celebrity. On the conclusion of the conference, the participants issued communique, which was recited by Sheikh Ali AlJafri. The communique called upon Muslims to follow Quranic instructions ” The Quran is a guide to the true path,” said the communique. Also the communique concentrated on seeking knowledge and recommended its seeker to become moderate, get red of fanaticism and respect others views. After the conference, the participant toured round Tarim and visited famous places for teaching Islamic such as Rebat Tarim and Al-Ahqaf Library for Manuscripts which contains a huge long standing culture heritage. It is worth while mentioning that Tarim is the oldest city in Hadhramout volley. Since the 4th century which Ahmed Al-Muhajer (spiritual and head of the community who came from Iraq.
Tarim has become a center of Islamic and intellectual activity and played a major role in spreading Islam in south Asia and Africa, thousands of people in Indonesia, Malaysia descend from tribes in Tarim.
