The government of Japan is offering 20 training courses in various fields to the government of Yemen during this fiscal year. Organized by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) within the framework of Japan’s Official Development Assistance to developing countries, the training courses are in the sectors of water, health, fishery, agriculture and energy.
Japan has been offering these training courses to Yemen since the beginning of the bilateral technical cooperation between the two countries in the early 1980s. The total number of Yemeni participants until the end of the 1997 fiscal year reached 283.
