Jews in Raida Hate Sharon [Archives:2002/02/Local News]

Yemeni Jews in Raida expressed their bitter disappointment at the bad treatment they receive from tribesmen during their day-to-day activities. In a statement to the Yemen Times they said they were deprived of the freedom to practice their rituals.
It is worthwhile mentioning that Raida area, which is 80 km to north of Sana’a has more than 50 Jewish families who work as craftsmen. Jews in this area participated in the previous local elections and declared their support for the constitutional referendum. They said they preferred to live in Yemen and that they hated Sharon, Israel’s prime minister.
