Lightning Kills 13 in Sadaa [Archives:2001/24/Local News]

Thirteen people were killed by lightning in the governorate of Sadaa to the north of Yemen. Eyewitnesses told Yemen Times that it rained cats and dogs during the last few days in Razeh and Munabeh provinces accompanied by lightning which killed 13 persons including three women. The sources added that such incidents take place during the rainy season in the two areas but the government has not done anything to tackle the problem. The heavy rain also destroyed a good number of farms and houses causing heavy damage.
