Since the golden songs of Yemen, a number of distinguished lyricists have followed. They conveyed their poetic creativity in a faithful manner. Their songs still echo in our memories.
Abyan is place where a number of distinguished lyricists have participated in the development of our music. Two of the many are Mohammed Mohsen Mohammed Abdullah Nusair.
Mohammed Abdullah Nusair was born in the 1930s. He grew up in a poor family in Zonjobar city, al Mahal. He has three sons and one daughter. He is now retired, yet still many folklore poets are greatly influenced by him.
Nusair has been affected by the suffering of others, as revealed by his poems. He keeps his songs and poetry close to heart.
For Nusair, it is not necessary for a poet to express or reveal himself to others. The main goal of a poem or song is to relate to the feelings that already exist in people.
