The Ministry of Information has recently issued the by-law regulating various aspects of the newspaper business in the country. The by-laws place new financial and other responsibilities on newspapers. They also require a minimum capital of YR 2 million for a daily newspaper, a YR 700,000 for a weekly, YR 1.2 million for a weekly magazine, YR 1 million for a monthly/quarterly magazine, and YR 100,000 for bulletins/circulars.
