Military Football Tournament Launched [Archives:1997/42/Sports]

Organized by the Military Sports Association, the Military Football Tournament was launched in Sanaa on Wednesday October 15th. Ten military units, divided into two groups, are taking part. The first and second from each group will be qualified for the semi-finals. In the opening match, the Military Communications team beat the Army Transport team 3-2. The Central Security team beat the Air Force team 1-nil on the same day. The opening ceremony was attended by the Director of the Military Sports Association, Col. Yahya AL-Kahlani and a number of sport officials. The matches are scheduled to continue until October 26th.
