A campaign was launched Monday July 26th in all governorates of the republic to fight malaria bearing mosquitoes. The campaign aims at reducing the number of mosquitoes in the valleys during the monsoon season.
The World Health Organization is giving technical support to the National Malaria Fight Program (NMFP), Sana'a.
“Cooperation is necessary between citizens and official authorities on one side and the pesticide spraying teams which will visit targeted areas, so that the goals of the campaign are achieved,” said Dr. Jamal Omran, director of the NMFP.
He added: “we aim at protecting citizens from malaria which kills thousands of people annually, let alone other damages such as those caused to bee-breeding farms.
