Move the White House to Tel Aviv! [Archives:2002/26/Focus]
COMMON SENSE
Hassan Al-Haifi
The Bush Administration continuously has shown us that it is void of the ability to take the proper initiative in managing the affairs of state in a manner that shows any sense of global responsibility. Ever since the Bush Administration took over, American foreign policy has been guided by incomprehensible approaches that hardly project a clear lack of concern of the adverse consequences of a policy that purely caters to political motivations. Even such political considerations are not based on proper calculations, or without regard to their implications vis a vis American interests.
If the American Administration thinks that Ariel Sharon can guarantee Mr. Bush another term in office, because it cannot count on a clear display of leadership of its own weight, the American people surely deserve much better assessment of their intellect.
What we are seeing these days is that Mr. Bush has no consideration for the work done by previous administrations, including his fathers, with respect to the Middle East. In fact, Mr. Bush, the younger, has fallen into the trap of believing that the Zionists of the likes of Ariel Sharon are the saviors of western culture and freedom in the Middle East. Because the evil that the Zionists have unleashed in the Holy Land is like nothing anyone has seen in this age. It is born from the long historical feud of greed and domination against good and righteousness, even if disguised under religious manifestations; this creed comes as a mutation of western imperialism, with the basic motto that it is the powerful who shall inherit the earth. While America was never oriented to allow itself to be drawn into the flagrant inhumane imperialist orientations of its European motherland, it nevertheless is being goaded by a dangerous Zionist element that insists that it is only with the use of power that America interests are served.
Righteousness and justice have now been removed from any calculations in American foreign policy, because Ariel Sharon and his evil Zionist teammates now dictate that foreign policy. Surely, the world will never remain as it is, and surely Americans will realize that the pro-Zionist elements in their midst have allowed things to get carried away in the Middle East. There is a time-bomb being set to explode, once the feelings of Arabs and Moslems of the world get to an explosive high against the lack of respect to their rights and religious feelings. As long as Mr. Bush feels so attached to the demagogic and chauvinistic appeals of the Zionist mob in Tel Aviv, it might be more appropriate for Mr. Bush to move his Administrations offices to Tel Aviv. This way, he will be able to serve his friend, Mr. Sharon, immediately. He will also see first hand how many Palestinian homes and hospitals are being destroyed, as Sharon wages his war of terror against the unarmed Palestinians on the pretext of fighting against a hopeless people who have seen nothing but oppression and hate unleashed against them for eighty years.
One is somewhat disturbed by the attitude of the White House towards every action taken by Tel Aviv and the blessings that the White House gives to every genocide act perpetrated by the Israeli Defense Forces against the Palestinians that one should not expect to see any hope for peace in the region in the foreseeable future. This is exactly what the Zionists want. This obviously gives them the chance to carry out their program of systematic ethnic cleansing, by not only massive killings, but also setting up all the infrastructure that leads to the continuous agony and suffering of all those still living, to make sure that they never see the light of day. It is a horrible rendition of hatred and bigotry that we thought the world has come to never see again. Last week the Israeli Defense Forces sporadically unleashed their heavy machine guns on three helpless children walking the streets of Jenin along with a dozen or so other older unarmed Palestinians. We tell Mr. Bush that, that is also terror by any dictionary and social more he may wish to follow. We also tell Mr. Bush that whether he likes it or not the continuous violence in the Middle East is greatly fueled by his own blindness to the realities of the region.
