Nabeel Mazwed: Champion of Tennis Tournament [Archives:2004/742/Local News]

May 2004- On the 14th anniversary of the national day, the first elite tennis tournament was held on the tennis courts of the Police Officers' Club. Yemeni amateurs and professional tennis players competed for the title during the two-day tournament.
The first day witnessed a number of close and exciting matches during the elimination rounds, which lasted until 10:00PM. The first day ended with the two qualified players for the final match.
Nabeel Mazwed, who is also the champion of the Republic, won the final, beating Walid Al-Fosaeyl in a close fought match.
The tournament was sponsored by Mr. Mahdi Alaw, regional director of the Arab Bank in Yemen, in coordination with Yemeni Tennis Union.
