The Omani people celebrated the 32nd anniversary of the Omani Renaissance last Tuesday July 23 2002. This festival come in a time the country is witnessing a range of accomplishments under the leadership of His Majesty, Sultan Kabus Bin Saeed. The Sultanate has played a positive and effective role whether on the Arab level or at the regional or through its relation with the entire world.
The foreign policy of the Sultanate focuses on non-interference in the foreign affairs and upholding its national sovereignty through peaceful coexistence with nations. Through this policy the Sultanate has achieved rapid development in many spheres of life, whether social, economic or commercial. The developmental process depends on the five-year plan to accomplish an economic equilibrium and to diversify the countrys resources to increase national income.
The Sultanate has stepped towards establishing huge enterprises and attract foreign and national investment. Sine the establishment of the Omani Stock market, the economic picture has improved dramatically as the Omani market has become among the most the distinguished markets in the whole region.
Oil and gas among other natural resources constitute the largest economic factor in enhancing national income. The number of the international companies in the Sultanate has increased considerably. The tourism sector has also flourished rapidly which constitute a main resource of national income.
