Ismail Al-Ghabiri
The national program for elimination of polio of the ministry of public health and housing has to start beginning of next week a 3-day first round of complementary campaign for elimination of polio starting with 123 districts of the country.
An official statement has indicated that the campaign would be in continuation of previous campaigns for fighting polio and declaring Yemen a polio-free region by the year 2005. The campaign aims at giving vaccines to all children under the age of 5 years with two doses each in addition to a vitamins dose. The statement mentioned that the number of children included in the campaign is 1.478.264 in 123 districts throughout the republic.
The national program and the ministry of health have called upon parents to benefit from this campaign and to positively respond to it for safeguarding their children and protecting them against the disease especially by taking their children centers of vaccination.
