New Horizons of Investment Between Yemen and Oman [Archives:2000/21/Local News]
An Omani official said that Oman and Yemen are planning for establishing a shipping company and a commercial bank. These projects aim at supporting trade between the two countries. The suggested blueprint was drawn during a meeting held in Oman between businessmen from the two countries in October 1992. The two companies will open the door for trade between the two countries after the settlement of the Yemen-Omani boundaries. Yemen is considered one of the big countries that imports from Oman. The total volume of those imports up to the year 1999 was YR 60 million. The Yemeni-Omani investment in the field of granite and marble in Yemen is estimated at $ 3 million.
