President Ali Abdullah Saleh has received the credentials of Mr. Asghar Quraishi as the Ambassador of Iran to Yemen. Mr. Kahnagi has held many positions before being appointed an ambassador. He was the Director General of Guidance in Karman in 1980, Assistant Manager of the Islamic Studies Office at the Ministry of Guidance in 1982, Director General of Culture and Social Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1983-1987, Director General of South and East Asia Office in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1988-1990, Iranian Ambassador to Indonesia in 1990-1994, Director General of the Foreign Affairs Office in the Judicial Authority in 1995-1999. His present post is as an advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
