No real partnership between Government and Private SectorFCCI confirms government’s inefficient handling of economy [Archives:2004/722/Local News]

During the extraordinary consultation meeting of the General Assembly of the Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Mohamed Abdo Saeed, the CEO of the Federation, confirmed the inefficiency of authorities responsible for handling the economy during the past years, due to absence of a genuine partnership between the private sector and Government in spite of the demands of the former. He added that economic indicators have decreased tremendously. The private sector is coping with in an environment marked by high taxes combined with deficient tax authority, which in turn leads to high smuggling activities denying the State Treasury of nearly 1000 billion Riyals in recent years.
