Workers manning oil rig No. 1 in Mareb went on a hunger strike last Thursday. This protest is contra the Nabros Oil Co. for not enforcing the court ruling issued in their favor by Sanaa Primary Court in 1998, which had been approved by the Higher Court as well.
Workers have appealed to the president of the Republic to intervene and lift the injustice inflicted on them despite the verdict they gained. The Yemen Times obtained a copy of a letter with the signatures of 47 workers addressed to the president, requesting the immediate enforcement of the verdict.
Nabros oil company refused the execution of the court ruling related to their case.
Workers also hold Nabros company responsible for the damage arising from their hunger strike.
