One Salah Shehade gone, one thousand emerged [Archives:2002/31/Viewpoint]

It is truly amazing how unintelligent the Israeli administration looks. The latest attack that killed the leader of the military wing of Hamas Salah Shehade is yet another example of the ridiculous way the Israeli government thinks. By killing innocent children and women with F16 fighter bombs weighing more than a ton each, the Israeli government may have killed Salah Shehade, but they have also caused the creation of thousands of Shehades instead.
Israel proves once and again that it does not learn from its mistakes. God knows how many Israeli people will now be killed because of this foolish act of Sharon. What is more interesting than that is the inability of the Israeli people to see that Sharon is digging the grave of his own state.
By increasing hatred among Palestinians against Israelis, Sharon is adding more misery to his own people and adds to the difficulty of achieving peace in the region.
Upon the killing of Salah Shehade, an Israeli spokesmen said, We feel that now that we have got rid of Salah Shehade, we have removed one of the main obstacles towards peace. It is pathetic to realize that many Israelis think that peace comes through violence. The peace process in itself has become an illusion further away than any dream. Looking at the thousands of Palestinians angered by the latest massacre in Ghaza, one can only brace for the worst.
The situation is currently going out of hand, and I wont be surprised to know that most Palestinians are willing to sacrifice their lives to damage the Jewish state in any possible way. The hundreds of thousands that came out in the funeral of Shehade all promising to take revenge should make Israelis shiver to the bone not knowing if they will come back alive after they leave for shopping, and whether the intense security measures will save them from eminent death by Palestinians gunshots.
Do Israelis like to live in continuous fear? Dont they realize that the number of Israelis killed and wounded during Sharons period in power has reached peak levels? How are they thinking? And why are they doing nothing to change their regime?
On the other hand, not only is Sharon creating more hatred within the country, but he is causing more hatred against Jews in the Arab world and even in Europe and elsewhere on this planet. He is slowly turning into a monster who is hated by everyone accept his only friend the USA government, which still sees him as a man of peace and will continue to do so until the end of time.
Muslims do believe in the eventual collapse of the state of Israel sooner or later because that is supported in our religion. But for sure, what Sharon is doing is speeding up the process of its collapse, and may bring its downfall faster than we expect.
