Opposition Agrees with President [Archives:2001/44/Front Page]

In their meeting with President Saleh and leaders of the PGC last Saturday, opposition parties reached an agreement with the President concerning the Election Supreme Committee (ESC) and the formation of its affiliate committees. The agreement stipulates implementation of the valid laws and cancellation of the new law draft. This law has granted the president the authorities to form the different committees of the ESC.
In a statement to YT, Secretary General of the Yemeni Congregation for Reform (Islah), Abdulwahb Al-Anesi said both sides have agreed to set measures to ensure a proper practice of the right of voting, as well as the neutrality of the government posts and public property.
