After debates lasting many days, the Yemeni parliament has finally approved a 745-billion-YR draft budget for 2004 on Monday.
The bill was approved by 174 MPs, with 41 against and four abstentions. The proposed budget has been estimatpublic receipts should increase to 681.15 billion rials in 2004.
Based on the draft budget, government spending would also increase by 11.4% and receipts by 12.7% compared to 2003.
In its proposed budget, Ba Jammal's government has put the gross budget deficit in 2004 at 84.361 billion rials and the net deficit at 63.45 billion.
