The Yemeni Writers Union and the Poets' House in Yemen inaugurated for the first time a celebration about Poetry on March, 12.

Abdul Aziz al-Maqaleh, the Director of the Yemen Center for Studies and Research as well as the Poets' House, consoled all the attendees, who were all poets, at the beginning of the program for the loss of one of Yemen's great modernist poets Muhammad Hussein Haytham who died on Friday, March 2. Condolences were also forthcoming regarding the death of another famous Yemeni poet, Zaid Mutee Dammag, who died on March, 20.
