President Ali Abdullah Saleh has openly and clearly emphasized that the one-day summit held on Monday in Addis Ababa with the participation of his Sudanese President Omar al-Beshir and Ethiopia's PM Meles Zenawi, was not targeting any one.
He elaborated that the meeting was based on the mutual benefit of the participating members. The President said in his speech that the main aim of the summit was originally dedicated to boosting cooperation between the three countries in all fields.
He also called for wider exchanges of investments between the three members. He also voiced support for peaceful resolutions in Sudan and supported efforts of reconciliation in Somalia.
The three leaders pledged to increase their cooperation in their so-called fight against terrorism in a region cited by the U.S. as a possible haven for international terrorists. The President returned to Yemen on Tuesday after the summit, which was also said to be one in a series of upcoming summits and meetings for the same purpose.
