President Ali Abdullah Saleh Sunday left for Paris, beginning a tour taking him to France and Tunisia. President Saleh was accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising deputy premier, the foreign minister Abdul Kader Ba Jamal, minister of Trade and Supply Abdul Aziz al-Kumaim and members of the Consultative Council and a number of businessmen, official sources said.
The sources have further said that during his stay in France President Saleh would hold important talks with French President Jacques Chirac on Yemeni-French relations and increase of cooperation in various fields. President Saleh would also discuss with president Chirac the latest dangerous and regrettable developments in the occupied territories and the brutal massacres perpetrated by Israeli occupation forces, besides important European role in stopping those crimes.
A number of French oil companies are already working in Yemen, especially Total Company in Shabwah governorate which is also leading an ambitious project for exploitation and exporting Yemeni liquefied gas. In addition: there is another French company working in Yemen in communication technology field.
The second leg of President Salehs tour would be Tunisia where he is to have talks with president Zaine Al-Abediene Bin Ali tackling a number of issues.
