Tomorrow, February 10th, President Ali Abdullah leaves Sanaa for Kuala Lampur – his first official visit to Malaysia. Two days later, he continues to China for a state-visit, the President’s second to Beijing. The final leg of the trip will take the President to Indonesia, where he will celebrate with his hosts the 50th anniversary of Yemen’s recognition of Indonesia.
Accompanying the President is an official delegation made up of Mr. Abdulaziz Abdulghani, Chairman of the Consultative Council; Dr. Abdul-Karim Al-Iryani, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister; Abdul-Qader Ba-Jammal, Minister of Planning and Development; Mr. Ahmed Soufan, Minister of Industry and Chairman of the Investment Authority; Mr. Yahia Al-Ra’ee, Deputy Speaker of Parliament; Lt-General Abdullah Al-Basheeri, Secretary-General of the Presidential Office; and Professor Abdulaziz Al-Saqqaf, Member of the Consultative Council.
Also on the Presidential visit are  54 leading businessmen with links to the region. In addition, there is a large media group, plus the regular security and protocol contingencies. A total of some 24 formal inter-governmental agreements will be signed during the 10-day visit; plus several contracts and business deals.
