Rally on Aqsa burning anniversary [Archives:2003/663/Local News]
Sana'a, August 24 (jihadunspun)- The Palestine Scholars League – Yemen branch has organized a rally in Sana'a on Thursday under the auspices of the Yemeni parliament speaker Sheikh Abdullah bin Hussein Al-Ahmar on the 34th anniversary of burning of the Aqsa Mosque.
Dr. Mohammed Siyam, chairman of the PSL branch delivered a statement recalling past achievements of religious scholars and their role in guiding the masses.
Prominent Islamic Yemeni scholar Ahmed Al-Akwa delivered another speech in the name of the Yemeni Scholars League recalling the sad memory and advocated an Islamic renaissance to confront Israeli crimes.
Omar Abu Obeid, director of Hamas office in Yemen, reminded the audience that weakness of the Muslim nation had led to the fall of the Aqsa Mosque in the hands of Jews and dared them try and burn the holy shrine in a bid to destroy it and build their alleged temple on its place.
Sheikh Abdel Meguid Al-Zindani of the Islah Party, delivered a statement on behalf of Sheikh Ahmar, affirming that the Israeli enemy was targeting the Muslim nation's wealth, religion, lands, shrines and future.
He emphasized that rights were only grabbed by force and not through negotiations and ''peace'' agreements.
