The Paris Club Creditors have recently agreed on restructuring a part of Yemen’s external debts, a measure that is said to enable the country to provide finance for the Eradication of Poverty Program. These measures which were agreed upon last Thursday will lead to the reduction of debt service in 2001 and 2002 to US$ 96 million from US$ 125 million.
A statement by the club member-states said that the rescheduling includes US$ 420 million out of US$ 1.9 billion which is the total of Yemen’s debt to the club member-states.
