Functions of the first international doll exhibition kicked off last Thursday in Tourist City in Sana'a. The exhibition of a great number of dolls, aims to make the international heritages reflected in dresses and various crafts known to the visitors. Another point of the gathering and exhibition of dolls is to popularize craftsmen who work to enhance friendship between nations.
The exhibition has European, Asian and African sections, and more than 200 dolls from these continents are clad in dresses that are typical to each region. Additionally, oil paintings made by Russian artists of the Old City of Sana'a and other ancient sites in Yemen were displayed.
The exhibition coordinator, Ms. Billatana Yefa, says: “It is the efforts of women at the Russian Embassy and some of the Ukrainian female residents in Yemen that has made the exhibition a success””.
