Sales Tax Bill postponed [Archives:2002/32/Local News]

President Ali Abdullah Saleh has recently intervened and postponed the application of the proposed Sales Tax Bill until 2004. This happened despite the fact that the bill was already ratified by the cabinet in its regular meeting held in Sanaa on July 30.
The postponement of the new bill has come as a result of heated debates and objections from the Commerce and Industry Chamber Federation and the Yemeni Industrial Associations.
A few days ago, conflicting reactions were observed among Yemeni businessmen and investors over the Sales Tax Bill.
