Sana’a has deadly Holy Month [Archives:2003/685/Front Page]

According to a report released by the Capital Secretary last week, 130 accidents have occurred in Sana’a City in the first two weeks of Ramadan.
Nine people were killed and 77 injured because of traffic accidents that have increased in number due to the reckless driving of drivers who wish to arrive home on time for breakfast at sunset.
The accidents ranged from colliding cars to crushing pedestrians and have witnessed a steady increase since the beginning of the month.
Among those injured is a significant number of persons who are still in critical condition and who could be impaired for life.
Apart from that, the report mentioned there has been a total exceeding YR 330 million of losses due to those accidents.
