Sanaa Tech Fair Inaugurated [Archives:2000/34/Local News]

The first of its kind Sanaa Tech Fair was opened last Saturday at the Sanaa International Exhibition Center. The occasion was attended by Mr. Muhammed Abdulla Al-Qasoos, General Manager of the Yemeni Telecommunications Corporation and both the Saudi Arabian and Palestinian ambassadors. Mr. Ameen Dirhem, Chairman of the Tihama Tractors & Engineering Co. was at hand. Attending the opening ceremony were also a number of organizers and technicians.
Mr. Abdulrehman Ali Bushr, General Manager of Mass Co. for Technical & Advertisement Production, which organized the fair told the Yemen Times that school accessories and computers are available at suitable prices to meet the requirements of students. The occasion coincides with the re-opening of the academic year 2000-2001. Companies dealing with telecommunications and computers to take part at the fair have allotted tempting prizes amounting to US$5,000 for customers.
During the fair period : August 19-25, Tihama Company for Tractors & Engineering, in cooperation with, supervision and patronage of the Yemen Times has arranged a free computer course for more than 200 male and female students.
