Second workshop on Earth Summit wraps up [Archives:2002/16/Local News]

The second workshop for the national committee for the Earth Summit which is to be held in the Johannesburg, the capital of the South Africa from August 26 to September 4 2002 concluded its workshop in Sana’a on April 3 2002.
Participants finished the final touches of their working papers in order to prepare themselves for the national report to be presented and discussed during the Earth Summit.
In a statement to YT, Abdulmalik al-Eriani, the Minister of Tourism and Environment stated that the summit will help a lot in achieving a sustainable development for the international community.
The Chairman of the General Corp. for Environment, Mohammed Saeed al-Mashgari said that the national report include all the issues related to environment and sustainable development on natural resources and biodiversity, water and pollution, poverty, environment, women’s role in the sustainable development and the role of the NGOs as well as the private sector.
