Security has been tightened around oil facilities following instructions from the Ministry of Interior issued late last week. The ministry gave directives for rigorous security, to ensure the safety of Yemeni ports and oil facilities from potential saboteurs infiltrating the country.
Security forces have increased considerably at city entrances and outside the city, as have searching campaigns, and the number of patrolling coast and oil facility guards.
These measurements are taken after receiving reliable information that terrorist cells were intending to destabilize Yemen, and might target these establishments.
Helicopters were recently seen hovering over oil facilities, export ports, and refineries.
