Sheraton Sanaa Hotel Celebrates 5th Anniversary of Check Out For Children [Archives:2000/48/Local News]

The Sheraton Sanaa Hotel celebrated the 5th anniversary of the Check Out For Children campaign in collaboration with the UNICEF at a gala dinner Last Thursday. Mr. Fadeel Wehbe, General Manager of Sheraton Sanaa welcomed the guests and introduced the program the Starwood Hotels and Resorts (Owners of Sheraton range of hotels) kicked off five years ago in cooperation with the UNICEF. We charge one US dollar on every guest bill that is paid upon departure. The proceeds will be given to the UNICEF at the end of November to support immunization campaigns, he said. He added that through the past five years the Check out for Children had collected about USD 5 million which was spent on immunization campaigns by UNICEF.
The dinner was a attended by a number of ambassadors, members of diplomatic missions and others.
