Celebrating the anniversaries of the September and October revolutions, Sheraton Sana’a is organizing an tennis open championship from September 26th to October 10th. Sixty-six amateur Yemeni, Arab, and international players are taking part. The matches are divided as follows: * Men’s singles: 43 players * Ladies’ singles: 12 players * Men’s doubles: 20 players * Mixed doubles: 16 players All in all 80 matches are to be held – 8 matches are held every day of the championship. “Valuable prizes will be presented to the winners,” said Mr. Mansoor Al-Arabi, the championship’s supervisor. The first prize is a return ticket to Amsterdam presented by KLM. Consolidated Contractors (International) Company, the Arab Bank, the Yemeni Company of Electronic Calculators are financing cups, trophies, and other prizes to be presented to the other winners. The final matches will be as follows: * Mixed doubles: 9-10-97 at 17:30 hrs * Ladies’ singles: 9-10-97 at 16:00 hrs * Men’s doubles: 10-10-97 at 10:30 hrs * Men’s singles: 10-10-97 at 16:00 hrs
