Signaling German medical assistance to Yemen:Seminar on health in Amran [Archives:2003/627/Local News]

Under the patronage of the Minister of Public Health and Population and the Governor of Amran, the seminar on 'Strategies for Strengthening Yemeni-German Cooperation for Health' was held in the town of Amran on Sunday March 9.
The Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Abdunassir al-Munaibari focused in his speech on the growing Yemeni-German relations particularly in the field of medicine. Those relations were firmly established since the early 1960s.
The health service sector in Yemen has always been the focus of the attention of the German support.
A statement was delivered by the German embassy during the event focusing on the German medical support to Yemen and the role of the GTZ in supporting this sector.
“That support come within the framework of alleviating poverty strategy.”” the statement said.
It is worth noting that Yemen is among the poorest countries of the world
