Student’s Office Held a Seminar [Archives:1999/50/Local News]

Under the title “Political Pluralism – Future Prospects,” a seminar was organized by the students’ office of the Islah Party. The outcome of the seminar was that people’s unawareness of their political rights and duties is the main stumbling block on the way of the democratic process. People are not aware that rights are taken by force and are not given willingly. They have criticized the form ruling power in which every authority is overlapping each other. The participants expressed their hopes to get rid of the obstacles they face through more understanding and discussion between the political powers.
On another level, participants pointed out that freedom of expression that is allotted to people is negatively dealt with by the ruling power which is oppressing freedom of the press.
