The Human Rights and Information Training Center (HRITC) took part in the international symposium on democracy and good governance in the Middle East, which was held in London between March 6-9.

The symposium, which was attended by a number of international organizations, discussed the democratic reforms in the Middle East, the role of civil society organizations and the principles of good governance.

Mr. Abdulaziz Abdulghani, Chairman of al-Shura Council and Mrs. Amatalaleem Al-Soswa, Minister of Human Rights, represented the Yemeni Government at the symposium, while Mohammad al-Qadhi participated in the symposium as a representative of HRITC.

The HRITC took part in the regional conference on the national institutions for human rights held in Cairo from March 6-8. The conference was organized by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, in cooperation with the National Council for Human Rights in Cairo.

The HRITC presented a vision about the partnership between the non-governmental organizations and the official institutions that is based on joint cooperation, supporting the independence of civil society and empowering its role.
