In cooperation with the Canadian Development Program, the Women’s Forum for Studies and Training organized a symposium on human rights which concluded today in Al-Mukalla city.
Discussions centered on agreements pertaining to human rights and the international laws concerned with women and their rights and the local techniques in supporting the implementation of those laws.
A number of working papers were presented, concerning the issue of human rights as a philosophy. The international conventions approved by Yemen throw light on the effect of Universal Declaration of Human Rights on the local enactment and accords of combating all forms of discrimination against women. The event was attended by a representative from the Canadian Embassy and a number of international organizations.
