Ali Ahmad Najee, a citizen from al-Janad, Taiz, filed a complaint on behalf of some citizens from al-Janad to the governor of Taiz requesting compensation for their land confiscated by the administration of the airport. In their petition of complaint they indicated that some of their lands were taken twenty years back. The administration of the airport did not stop at this, but went on to confiscate their lands outside the fence of the airport in August 2000. The administration of the airport has captured these lands under the pretext of building offices for customs administration. However, it has not compensated the land owners. Citizens have appealed to the governor to either restore their lands or compensate them.
