The Taj Sheba Hotel this year, Unlike in the past, merged their Best Employee of the year announcements with the Annual Day Celebrations. The General Manager of Labour Office for the Sana'a governorate Mr. Ali Dailamy was present for this important occasion. Mr. Dailamy addressed all the employees on the importance of such functions, and appreciated the efforts of the Taj Sheba Management, for the initiative of sending its employees from Yemen, to leading Taj hotels in India for training and exposure. The choice for the BEST EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR was not a difficult one, as Mr. Mohammed Ghalib Al Yusufi walked away with the honours. The reason for selecting Mr. Yusufi was for his hard work, dedication, a 'never say no attitude in serving his colleagues and maintaining very high hygiene standards in the Staff Cafeteria. The second best employee award was shared by Mr. Mohammed Al Moyad from House Keeping, Mr. Mohammed Ali Saad from Front Office and Mr. Alvito Coutinho from Accounts.
Mr. Ahmed Ali Nasser from the coffee shop, more popularly known as GOLDIE, Mr. Mohammed Al Hashimi from Health Club and Mr. Xavier Fernandes from Banquets shared the third Best Employees award. All the awards carried cash prizes besides Certificates of Appreciation.To continue with the precedent as in the past and in order to keep employees at the hotel constantly motivated the General Manager of the Hotel, Mr. Rohit Khosla announced the names of five Employees to be sent to India for exposure and learning. These employees will undergo extensive training in their respective areas at Premier Hotels of the Taj Group under guidance of qualified professionals.The names of employees selected for this training program are:Mr. Mujahed Mohammed Salah – Engineering & MaintenanceMr. Ali Noman Mahyoob – Kitchen / Bakery Mr. Nasser Abdulrahman Al Riyashi – House KeepingMr. Ahmed Ali Nasser – Food & BeverageMr. Saad Mohammed Naji Al Hawri – Front Office The proceedings concluded with lively Cultural events presented by the employees of the hotel that included skits, songs, and dance performances. The Hotel served a special lunch for all its employees and certificates for Best Attendance and Long service awards for completing 20 years, 10 years and 5 years respectively were distributed.
It was an event that will be fondly remembered by all at The Taj Sheba Hotel for the rest of the year with the hope of an equally good function in the years to come.
